Summer is ending and the surrounding schools are heading back for the 2013-14 year. While it may be a saddening time for the students; it’s a great time for the park to start work on Haunt this coming fall! Construction has started around the park leaving the park no choice but to finally release the Haunt website! While the full list can be found on the Haunt website; the purpose of this post is to help clear up some possible confusion that might occur and give some personal thoughts for some of the mazes.
Kings Dominion seems to be going full force when it comes to the mazes this year. Even with the removal of Toxic Plaque and Camp Killauee; we will certainly not be disappointed this year with Miners Revenge and Zombie High that will be debuting this year! Now on with this nonsense! Time for the important information!

While I personally did not enjoy this last year, BGWFans writer, Zachary, left the park with this maze being his favorite. From observation around, CornStalkers seems to be getting an overhaul and will be receiving a few new facades.
Miner’s Revenge will be replacing Camp Killauee this year. How will they utilize the new area? Well I guess we will have to find out!
Personally, I feel like this maze can be amazing if they can figure out a way to avoid the main walkway and walk around in the dirt. I found that the main problem with Camp Killauee was the hiding places because you were forced to walk on a very skinny bridge. Miners Revenge has a great opportunity to break away from the long wooden pathway and utilize the dirt in the surrounding area. This maze has great opportunity to be one of the best. Will Kings Dominion bring us another amazing maze like No Vacancy last year?
Zombie High is another new maze that is debuting this year! Located in the old HyperSonic XLC queue house, this maze also has potential to be one of the best. Given the theme, I’m guessing the maze layout will change drastically. While Toxic Plaque was far from the best, it had great potential. Hopefully they can utilize this space well and make sure that they keep all of the hallways full with props and not left empty. Again, hopefully the park can utilize this great space and open up yet another great maze!
This year there isn’t any changes involving the scare-zones as far as we know. Hopefully they were able to staff the areas more to enhance the scare effect. The area and the props were amazing last year so hopefully they continue to strive with that this year.

While there is only one show listed on the official website thus far, MoonMaxx Productions has posted on their Facebook Page the cast for two shows; Edge of Darkness and Uprising. Uprising will be returning for yet another year, but also remember that this is MoonMaxx Production’s first year at Kings Dominion so we might see some improvements this year. Edge of Darkness is brand new, so hopefully they will be able impress me yet again with the show quality that they have produced this summer! Judging by the improvements in shows this year, hopefully we will be able to see these improvements for the shows during Haunt!

This year will hopefully be another growing year for Haunt and we can see more updates and changes with the mazes, scare-zones, and the shows. Kings Dominion has taken a huge step with the removal of two mazes and the addition of two new mazes and so far one new show! I can’t wait for September 27th for the opening night of Haunt also. Man, where did summer go?
I included the hours that each of the mazes so that you can better plan your visit to the park. I’m hoping that they just forgot to add Sunday to Blue Ridge BloodBath because as of right now, it’s closed. Also each maze shows that each maze is open until midnight when the park closes at 10pm. Hopefully the park can correct these errors. If the site is updated with new shows or maze hours, I will make sure to update this post as soon as possible.
Hopefully this post can help clear any confusion that may be out there. I should be heading to the park soon to get a Haunt construction update in the upcoming weeks, so check back every now and then for something new!
