Last season we saw a lot of changes to the park’s entertainment offerings and this season is no different. Some of the shows listed below are basically the same shows according to the descriptions, but now they will have different names. The Planet Snoopy shows stayed the same.
Earlier this off season, we noticed that MoonMaxx Productions posted that they would be hosting auditions at the park, but that was quickly pulled from their Facebook page soon after. After sending an email to MoonMaxx directly, asking if they would be returning or not, I didn’t receive a response. However, one of our forum members, mwhinva, dug around and found a possible candidate. RWS and Associates seems to be a possible company to produce shows for Kings Dominion! Not too long ago they posted on their Facebook page stating that they would be attending the entertainment auditions earlier this month. However, this doesn’t officially mean that they are now working with the park. Hopefully, we will find out officially who is putting these shows together when the park opens on April 5th!
All Wheel Sports
This talented group of performers will be bringing their stunts to the PEANUTS Showplace for their second season at Kings Dominion!

Rockin’ Country
Rockin’ Country is a new show that will be bringing the latest country hits to the Candy Apple Grove Stage. I say this is a new show, but from the sounds of it, it will just be like ‘Got Country’ but with a new name. According to the site, it seems that this show will consist of a new live band.

Clown Band
This roaming band brought excitement to the pathways with their live music and shenanigans. The Clown Band will be special as they do not perform on a stage, as the park pathways are their stage!

#KD40 – On Stage
This will be the show that turns back the clock and brings 40 years of memories to life on a single stage. From the 1970s to today, this high energy show celebrates not only the greatest hits that have defined the last 40 years but also takes you on a journey through the rich history that has made Kings Dominion Virginia’s destination for family fun!

This show seems to be similar to last years ‘Pop Fusion’, but, like Rockin’ Country, with a different name. This show will consist of some of today’s greatest hits.

Dominion at Dusk
The nighttime celebration that lights up the center street pathway and the Eiffel Tower. On days that the park closes at 10pm this event will feature fireworks and a new show called ‘Ignite the Night.’

While these shows do sound great, the names seem very bland and not too thought out. I am excited about to the #KD40 – On Stage, even though I believe a better name could be thought of, it will provide a great experience about some of the memories that the park created in these past 40 years!
